A dance theater brings an exciting whirlwind of contemporary dance, music, poetry and entertainment to a primary school in east Lancashire on Wednesday.
Coalesce Dance Theater will perform a production of The Old Green Time Machine at Belthorn Academy Elementary School on Wednesday, April 13.
The performance of The Old Green Time Machine is part of a day of holiday club activities held at the school over Easter, with members of the public invited to attend the show and stay and play activities in the morning.
The performance follows the journey of two intrepid and eccentric time travelers who embark on a race to save the world.
In a future where all living things have been destroyed and only plastic remains, the two adventurers find themselves on an urgent trip down memory lane to change the course of history.
The show explores the importance of climate action and how we are all responsible for making positive changes to save the planet.
With an interactive “Stay, Play and Learn” session after the performance, audience members can meet the characters and stick around for some planet-saving tips and tricks.
Spot On Programmer Lyndsey Wilson said, “Coalesce Dance Theater is a brilliant female-led dance company that tackles hot topics with an uplifting and engaging approach.
“Their whimsical storytelling initially captivated audiences in North West libraries and the show is now set for a series of outdoor performances.
“We keep our fingers crossed for good weather, but we have a back-up indoor or covered performance space for every event.”
The event starts at 10am with stay and play immediately after.
Tickets cost £6 per child (with accompanying adult free) and can be purchased through the ticket office on 07711 848994.
This show is part of the Spot On Spring season, touring Fairhaven Lake in Lytham St Annes on Thursday 14th April and Darwen Market on Saturday 16th April.
