Mumbai hip-hop dance team The Kings win World of Dance.

Mumbai hip-hop dance crew The Kings, the 14-member squad that wowed judges including Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough with their incredible performances, won the reality show from NBC World of Dance beating the other finalists. They won the $1 million cash prize. Canadian contemporary dancer Briar Nolet, sister duo Ellie and Ava, VPeepz, a hip-hop group from the Philippines, and Unity LA, a 10-person team from Southern California, managed to reach the final – which took place on May 5 (Sunday) – apart from The Kings.

The win for a 14-member team aged 17 to 27 comes as no surprise as they achieved blockbuster scores throughout the three months of the show.

The Kings, who specialize in Bolly-hip-hop style, started out on the streets of Mumbai in 2008 but came into the limelight after winning season 3 of India’s Got Talent. They earned a third place at the 2015 World Hip-Hop Dance Championship.

The third season of the American reality show World of Dance premiered on February 26, 2019 on NBC. Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough returned as judges for their third consecutive season. Scott Evans replaced Jenna Dewan as host.
