An innovative group of artists take dance to new heights in Portland. The “Bandaloop” dance troupe performs vertically using climbing equipment to dance to the sides of buildings. Organizers are planning two free events in Portland this weekend and are promising a performance with complex choreography. Artists say they are happy that public art events are returning. “Bringing people together for live art after such a long time without being together is extremely important to me as an artist,” said Melecio Estrella, an artist from Bandaloop. The group performs for free at the Canopy by Hilton at the Portland Waterfront on Rue du Center Friday at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and Saturday at 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
