Contemporary Italian dance company Artemis Danza will perform “Dante Solo Inferno” at 7 pm on December 4 at the Instituto Cervantes Theater in Chicago. In this choreographic interpretation of Dante’s classic poem, audiences encounter the lost souls who crossed Dante’s path on his journey to another world. The soundtrack alternates between the original music composed by Luca Vianini and pieces of sacred music by Giuseppe Verdi, interspersed with verses by Dante. Founded in 2005 by Monica Casadei, Artemis Dance has directed more than 40 creations ranging from contemporary dance performances to choreographies for theatrical performances and operas.
