Kennedy Center Presents Dance Group Mark Morris at East Coast Premiere of THE LOOK OF LOVE

The illustrious dance group Mark Morris returns to the Eisenhower stage with Morris’ latest evening work, a Kennedy Center co-commission, The Look of Love, October 26-29 at the Eisenhower Theater.

Marking its first on the East Coast, the dance party is the most recent collaboration between Morris and jazz composer Ethan Iverson. Known for the elements of humor and musicality in his works, Morris said:

“Always melodically engaging, always rhythmically surprising, with a touch of melancholy and a fiery hop, Bacharach’s wonderful music calls for dance. There is a rich range of emotions, points of view and dynamics in the astonishing music of Bacharach (and lyricist Hal David) compositions, both very familiar and relatively obscure. The Look of Love will be an action-packed and varied song and dance spectacle, with something for everyone.

With costume design by Isaac Mizrahi and lighting design by Nicole Pearce, Iverson’s new musical arrangements will be performed live by the Mark Morris Music Ensemble, consisting of piano, trumpet, bass and percussion with the singer, actress and Broadway star Marcy Harriell on lead vocals.
