PHOENIX — From a small town to what might just be one of dance’s biggest stages, an Arizona dance crew has pulled off their best moves on NBC’s “World of Dance.”

The group of dancers from Arizona, named “Exiles”, impressed judges Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough enough to advance.

The “Exiles” hail from Coolidge, Arizona and danced to “The Saints,” a song by Christian hip hop artist Andy Mineo.

“You can drive through it [Coolidge] in about five minutes,” said one of the dancers in the group.

The group said they would use the prize money from the show to complete a dance studio in their hometown.

“We love our community, we always serve, we always raise awareness,” said one of the dancers in the group.

Lopez said she was in awe of the band’s energy while Hough said the band showed up to play and “fired a cannon”. Ne-Yo said he “loved it”.

The judges, however, gave some hints about the band’s look saying it could be a bit more “showtime”.

“Looks like a million dollars,” Lopez said.

The group received an average score of 88 and will advance to the next round. They only needed an 85.

You can watch “World of Dance” at 7 p.m. on Sundays only on 12 News.
